Objectives
To know how to add interest to what is said by extending sentences
To reorganise and begin to use spoken devices which make what you say authentic and original
To be able to use given criteria in order to make effective judgements about the work of your peers.
Outcomes
Extended role plays with spontaneous and original speech; explicit criteria identified and used in discussion and assessment of work.
Activities
Matching exercise with rhetorical devices; modelling of role play; group discussion; performance of role plays and evaluation; plenary.
Significant target language use
In activities, lesson routines and whole-class interaction.
Impact: increased motivation, engagement, collaboration and progress in identified objectives, particularly in reflecting on each other’s work.
