The module aims to support coaches and coachees to:
- develop confidence as professional learners
- draw on and apply specialist expertise in languages teaching
- acquire and adapt new knowledge and skills in generic pedagogy
- expand teaching repertoire
- collaborate with colleagues to understand and address professional learning needs
- observe, analyse and reflect upon teaching practice.
The intended impact on teaching and learning is to:
- secure and extend pupil progress in languages learning
- increase quality and consistency of teaching and learning in modern foreign languages
- strengthen transfer and transition from Key Stage 2 and into Key Stage 4
- prepare for the revised national curriculum for languages
- raise standards at Key Stage 3 and secure entitlement at Key Stage 4.
