The Mentoring segment contains the following:
- identifying learning goals
- supporting progression
- providing guidence, feedback and direction
- assessing, appraising or accrediting practice.
The Specialist coaching segment contains the following:
- reflecting on and debriefing shared experiences
- providing support to clarify and refine goals.
The Co-coaching segment contains the following:
- experimenting
- drawing on evidence from research and practice
- planning supported by questions
- understanding each other's learning goals.
The Mentoring and Specialist coaching segment contains the following:
- encouraging experimentation
- modelling observing and articulating practice
- highlighting evidence from research and practice.
The Co-coaching and Specialist coaching segment contains the following:
- sharing and analysing evidence from practice, e.g using observation or video.
The middle segment contains the following:
- listening
- reviewing and action planning
- shared planning
- asking good questions
- establishing confidence in the relationship.
