Prior attainment graphs
This series of graphs display the previous key stage results for different year groups. Not only will prior attainment influence future results (and therefore targets) but it provides valuable information for teachers when planning the curriculum. Select the numbered hotspots below to examine the data in more detail.
Compare the average school prior attainment with the national average. Aldwych Primary has pupils who were in Year 6 who had on average much lower attainment than nationally.
Consider if the school average is changing between years. Aldwych Primary has a prior attainment that is falling.
Look at the distribution of prior attainment within the year. Aldwych Primary has a greater number of pupils with lower levels of prior attainment than nationally in Year 6.
Look at the change in the distribution between years. Aldwych Primary has a smaller proportion of pupils in Year 5 than in Year 6 who had a 2C at the start of the key stage.
Take account of any low coverage indicators. We should consider what prior attainment information we have for the missing pupils and how this may change the picture we have built up.
