The relationships of FSP assessment data to Key Stage 1 assessment data is a complex issue because we are not comparing like with like.
The profile is a result of an assessment process which includes PSED, knowledge and understanding of the world, creative and physical development as well as numeracy and literacy.
In contrast Key Stage 1 assessment data is only related to the narrower outcomes of children's attainment in reading, writing and mathematics.
In addition the data at both the profile and Key Stage 1 are the consequence of complex teacher assessment and moderation processes that have been improving and developing over time.
The existing national data set for exploring the links between profile outcomes and Key Stage 1 is limited and straightforward relationships do not exist.
