A route through your data

The process described in this section is one way to analyse your profile data. It promotes a focused and methodical method, giving a structured route through your profile data, ensuring any analysis is both focused and efficient.

We begin with school level data that all schools should have available to them and identify key issues for further analysis, drilling down to investigate any differences from the wider picture, until finally we focus upon key areas of learning, identified children and specific scale points.

We consider pupil achievement at each stage by looking at first progress and then attainment.

Finally, once prepared and published, we move on to local authority analysis that will complement and add to the initial analysis.

Crossmouth School used termly analyses, a spreadsheet and the e-profile to undertake most of its analysis. Croshire local authority supplemented this in the autumn, providing local data that set school achievement in context and provided socio-demographic comparisons.
