1. Use of Early Years Foundation Stage data

Introduction

Early Years Foundation Stage data – The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Profile is a tool to help practitioners document what children know, understand and can do. Select the links to the left to find out more.

The six areas of learning are represented by 13 assessment scales.

Each scale is divided into nine points representing different skills or achievements.

These points are non-sequential, meaning that a child could achieve point 7 before point 4. They are however ordered by an approximate level of difficulty.
